About
Our Story
We are a bunch of brothers and friends who grew up playing, some better than others. Many in high school, a few in college, most in rec leagues. We used to get up at 6:00 a.m. to head to the pubs that opened early to watch Premier League games.
As we entered our careers, some of us became involved in medicine, some in sales, and some in science education.
And we had kids that we wanted to share soccer with. Nearly all of us are youth coaches, and a few are on our local club boards.
As we tried to bring together the lessons of our work, we realized there was space to accelerate the spread of the most cutting-edge developments of soccer medicine, training, analysis, and business.
Our Purpose
At This Week in Soccer we are committed to unveiling the intricate blend of science and strategy that underpins the world’s most beloved sport. In soccer, transitioning from theoretical analysis and coaching strategies to practical on-field application can be as challenging as crucial. Most insights from soccer analytics and development strategies remain underutilized, creating a gap between potential and performance.
The crux of this issue lies in disseminating and interpreting soccer-related scientific findings. Our interactions with coaches, players, educators, and fans have highlighted a common obstacle: the struggle to access, comprehend, and apply the extensive and often complex information available in soccer science and analytics.
This Week in Soccer tackles this challenge with determination. Our aim is to transform the sophisticated and sometimes inaccessible world of soccer science into approachable and stimulating content for educators, coaches, and enthusiasts. We believe that the nuances of soccer analytics and coaching strategies should not be confined to scholarly articles or elite coaching clinics, but shared in a way that excites curiosity and deepens understanding of the game.
We use state-of-the-art AI tools to convert dense, technical information into visually appealing infographics, interactive forums, and succinct summaries. Our approach is redefining how insights into soccer are communicated, making them more engaging and applicable for everyone involved.
As the landscape of soccer education evolves, particularly with growing interest in data-driven approaches, This Week in Soccer stands at the forefront, ready to seize this moment. Our mission extends beyond bridging the gap between research and practice; we are here to enrich the soccer experience, fostering a deeper appreciation and love for the game in its scientific and strategic dimensions.
